Bishop Mark Berry is pastor of the Deerfield Beach Ministries. He was selected to begin the work in 1982 -- shortly after his life-changing encounter with Jesus.
This encounter put him in a position where he had to make some difficult choices, pursue his own personal goals or totally surrender everything to God. His choice was Jesus. Since that time the ministry continues to thrive under his leadership.
Describing himself as a teacher, not a preacher, he loves to see lives changed for Jesus. He has a passion for modeling and training others for ministry.
Despite his leadership of a growing ministry, Bishop Berry also has a full time job as a Training Officer for court deputies in the Broward Country Sheriffs Department. He has been involved in law enforcement for nearly 30 years. He uses this opportunity to touch the many lives that pass through the justice system.
Believing that education is key unlocking doors in both the spiritual and physical realms, Bishop Berry continues to purse higher education. He has Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, a Masters degree in Theology, and is currently working toward his doctorate in Theological Studies.
Family is a strong element in his life; it’s the glue that helps keep him together. He and his wife Sharon – a talented musician – have been married over 20 years. They have three children.
